Child Soldiers International is an organization designed to help stop the use of child soldiers in armed conflict. They are trying to secure demobilization and help former child soldiers rehabilitate and go back to living a normal life. Formerly known as, The Coalition to Stop the use of Child Soldiers, this organization was created in 1998 and had one main objective: to stop the use of child soldiers. Their motto, "working to stop the use of child soldiers worldwide" has influenced many to follow and join to help put an end to it all. Child Soldiers International current works for the implementation of OPAC (a global ban entered in 2002 on any form of military recruitment of people below the age of 18 years, and a definitive end to the military use of children in any capacity.) "Through research and advocacy, nationally and internationally, Child Soldiers International works to end all forms of military recruitment and use in hostilities of persons below the age of 18 years." Groups or organizations like this one have been appearing more and more throughout the world and this particular organization has influenced people the most to stop the use of child soldiers. Their vision is to see a world where all children under the age of 18 can grow up in a healthy lifestyle with the ability to seek full potential of their life and become well educated, and most importantly, to feel safe in their own home. They are strogly confident that if people can continue to follow in their footsteps to put an end to this, then these visions will begin to become true and the use of child soldiers will once and for all come to an end.
